Ryleigh Mars' Signature

Training Animals Since 2002

Ryleigh Mars

Ryleigh Mars is a dog trainer and behavior specialist known for her refined, results-driven approach to training and her deep understanding of learning and behavior. From luring her childhood dog over backyard jumps to raising litters of puppies for law enforcement, her foundation was built through early, hands-on immersion that evolved into a lifelong pursuit of mastery.

Her work today focuses primarily on dogs, where she develops reliable obedience, resolves complex behavioral challenges, and helps clients create clarity and structure in their relationships with their dogs. Known for her thoughtful, tailored approach, Ryleigh works across a wide range of cases—from foundational puppy development to reactivity, anxiety, and aggression—always guided by the principle that behavior is shaped by the conditions surrounding it.

Ryleigh’s professional education reflects both depth and intention. She is a graduate of the Tom Rose School, a member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, and has continued her studies through the Karen Pryor Academy and as a repeat student of the Michael Ellis School for Dog Trainers, among other advanced programs. This ongoing commitment to education allows her to bridge practical application with a sophisticated understanding of behavior science.

In 2025, she founded the EQ School for Animal Training & Behavior—an educational platform designed to elevate the standard of training through a focus on ethical practice, technical skill, and the human element behind animal success. The school reflects her broader vision: that meaningful change in animal behavior begins with how we teach, lead, and design the environments around them.

While her primary work is with dogs, Ryleigh’s expertise extends to animal behavior as a whole. Her background as a behavioral therapist for children further informs her perspective, reinforcing the shared principles of learning that exist across species.

Outside of her professional work, Ryleigh actively trains and competes with her own dogs in agility, obedience, and the protection sport of Mondioring. She is also dedicated to the preservation of the Mudi, a rare herding breed from Hungary, and is notably a co-breeder of the first Mudi ever exhibited at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.

Her work is defined by a singular focus: precision in training, clarity in communication, and a commitment to elevating the relationship between humans and the animals they live and work with.
